Who is Pilates for?

Everybody! Anyone wishing to improve their total fitness, posture and appearance.

It is ideal for those recovering from back problems, weak abdominals, stress incontinence and poor posture. It is also excellent as an additional form of exercise for for runners, sports people and dancers who will benefit from increased flexibility and core stability.

BASICALLY FOR ALL!

What do I need?

Mats and any equipment used are provided.

What do I wear?

Something comfortable that you can easily move in. Try not to wear too loose clothing as this does not assist the instructor when assessing alignments of the body.

How long is a class?

Normally one hour.

What will Pilates give me?

A long, lean and strong body. Pilates retrains the mind and body to work efficiently without tension. Stamina and co-ordination are improved. The body comes into perfect balance and alignment, with the result that the immune system is stimulated and the level of general health very often rises because the internal organs now sit and function correctly. It can help improve sleep patterns, tension in the neck and shoulders and relieve stress.

What if I have an injury?

One to one training is recommended to assess injury and tailor a specific programme for recovery before attending a small group course. Pilates is an ideal form of rehabilitation, alot of the work is focused on abdominal/spinal muscles and alignment.

Pilates is often recommended by Physiotherapists, Doctors, Health Practitioners, Chiropractitioners for rehabilitation from injury or just for general well being.
