Reformers
The Pilates Reformer group sessions have a maximum of 6 clients and are run on a 6 week course basis.
The reformer helps a client establish core stability and postural alignment.
The adjustable springs allow for progressive resistance, which helps to lengthen and strengthen the muscles rather than building bulk. It makes for an effective, no-impact stretching and toning workout that is friendly to the joints.
It has a gliding platform on which one can sit, kneel, stand or lie on their front, back or side. The user pushes and pulls off the foot bar to slide back and forth along the rails in a controlled manner while the tension in the springs gently works the muscles.
The effects go deep, and you'll engage muscles you never knew you had. As you progress, the fitness challenge becomes significantly greater.
It is a safe, sensible exercise system that will help you look and feel your very best. It teaches body awareness, good posture and easy, graceful movement. Pilates also improves flexibility and agility. It can even help alleviate back pain.
It is advisable to attend a beginners matwork course or reformer one2one session before joining a group course.
Please note that places must be pre-booked and the course fee must be paid for in full and is non-refundable. If a session is missed an alternative will be offered in its place whenever possible. No sessions can be carried over to the next 6 week course.
